It’s that time of year when all of the major holidays have passed and the winter slump kicks in. Are you looking for ways to entertain your family this winter? Here’s your guide to fun, interactive and creative activities to enjoy with in and around Kokomo!

Gravity is king when it comes to indoor entertainment in Kokomo! While it may be the most obvious of recommendations when it comes to indoor activities for kids (and adults), it would be a crime if we didn’t place Gravity at the very top of our list!
The Zone

Time after time we hear people say there aren’t any options when it comes to local activities for older kids and teens. That’s when we always recommend The Zone. The Zone is the perfect place for your kids to burn off some energy playing some nerf war, laser tag or jelly ball!
SOL House

SOL House is the perfect place to cozy up on a cold winter day. Tucked away on Superior Street in Kokomo is this charming gem. SOL House offers books and good vibes in their space for you and your kiddos.
Cat Cafe
If you’re a lover of cats and coffee then this is the spot for you! Inside of the Kokomo Humane Society is the Cat Cafe. You’re invited to sip on a taste beverage while visting the cat colony. It’s the prrr-fect opportunity to love on some adoptable felines.
TRAPoga

Located on Geek Street in downtown Kokomo is the perfect place for book lovers to unite. Chapter 2 Books offers gently used books for all ages and the coziest atmosphere.
Fired Arts Studio

Get creative at Fired Arts Studio. The paint-your-own pottery studio offers a wide variety of ceramics to choose from that you can paint and decorate. They also offer guided classes as well as different workshops if you’re looking to expand your artistic abilities.

Kokomo-Howard County Public Library

We would be here all day if we listed all of the things that the library offers! From toddlers to grandparents, KHCPL offers a ton of activities and more for everyone. Dance and wiggle in their toddler music class, create and learn on craft days, take advantage of cool tools like 3D printers at the Digital Den. There’s SO much you can do at all three branches!

Let’s face it, we all get cabin fever in the winter months but especially kids who need to burn off some energy. Your kids can unleash their inner ninja at Kokomo Flipsters ninja course. Your little ones are sure to love this course which includes exciting obstacles and more.
AA Cards & Collectibles

Kirkendall Nature Center
Bring the great outdoors inside! The Kirkendall Nature Center at Jackson Morrow Park is the perfect place for your kids to learn and explore in the winter months. From live animals, displays and more, your nature loving children are sure to love this spot.
Sherrill Studios
Unleash your inner artist at Sherrill Studios located upstairs at Mo Joe’s Coffee House. Sherrill teaches a variety of different art techniques but is mostly known for teaching the popular acrylic paint pouring canvas which is a blast for both young and old to create.

Grissom Air Museum
It may not be in Kokomo but it’s only a short drive away to Peru. If you have an aircraft lover or history buff in your life, they are sure to love the Grissom air museum. The museum features 24 historic aircraft from the Cold War era on display and allows you to jump into a cockpit and fly flight simulators.
The Fun Zone at The Markland Mall

Don’t sleep on The Fun Zone at Markland Mall! It truly is a ton of fun and conveniently located near shopping and other fun activities. If you wanted, you can make a day out of it! The Fun Zone features a good variety of arcade games, claw machines, air hockey and more!
Kokomo Family YMCA
The Kokomo Family YMCA is more than treadmills and weights. They offer a wider variety of classes as well for you and your family. From swimming to cooking and more, we bet there are a handful of classes and courses that you didn’t know about.
Sun King Kokomo

Sun King is fun for the whole family! This local brewery doesn’t only offer up cold brews, they also offer up good times and have a whole wall of board games and a fan favorite: giant connect four! Sun King Kokomo is the perfect place for everyone of all ages to have a good time. They offer trivia weekly and other fun pop-up workshops.
B&B Creative Studio

Ah yes, you probably didn’t expect to see Buff City on this list of places where you can participate in activities besides shopping but, it’s true! They do offers activities! One of our favorite being free bath bomb painting at every visit! That’s right, whether you make a purchase or not your children are welcome to create half of a bath bomb to take home at every visit! They will provide your child with a paint brush, bath bomb paint colors of their choice and they even get to scent their bath bombs with fun fragrances. While the city of Kokomo has two outdoor skateparks, it makes it more difficult to enjoy them during the winter months. Lokol Supply offers Kokomo’s only indoor skatepark where you can shred their shop filled with ramps, and more!
Sports

Yep, this category is pretty vague but you know what Kokomo has a lot of to offer? Sports! Especially right now and here soon. In case you haven’t been following Kokomo Post Sports (What are you doing?! Click here to follow.) there’s a lot of great local high school sporting events happening right now and fans have been packing the stands at places like Memorial Gym. That isn’t the only high volume of fans those stands will see though. The Kokomo Bobkats return to their home court for their third season in March! If you’re looking for a fun and exciting experience for your family to enjoy then Memorial Gym for a Bobkats game is where you’ll want to be!
