Friday night’s Kokomo Post Sports Game of the Week, partnered with Robert Miller & Son Furniture, took us to Memorial Gymnasium to see the Kokomo WildKats host the Marion Giants. From the onset the Giants took control with a fast paced style and aggressive defense. After getting shot after shot to hit the Giants just kept the lead 26-24 before the second quarter. Going into the half Kokomo struggled with speed of the game resulting in multiple turnovers and the point deficit started to increase resulting to a score of 54-38 at the half. The WildKats regrouped after halftime and made noticeable changes that showed strong promise of them making a come back. After multiple ties and both teams passing each other by single points, the WildKats caught up and matched the score of the Giants 95-95 sending the game to overtime. For the brief overtime it was shot for shot matching, and neither team was gaining the lead. With a couple intercepted passes from the WildKats, the Giants took quick advantage through fast breaks and took the lead by four points in the last seconds of the game. The Giants were able to secure the game 109-104.
