Quad Con Comic & Toy Show Set to Take Over Markland Mall

Prepare for a pop culture extravaganza as the Quad Con Comic & Toy Show takes over the Markland Mall on July 20 and 21. This highly-anticipated event promises to be a paradise for fans of anime, vintage toys, art, video games, action figures and an extensive collection of comic books.

With 70 vendor spots spread throughout the mall, attendees can look forward to discovering unique treasures and reliving childhood memories. Best of all, entry to this event is completely free!

"I have been doing comic book and toy shows since 1989," says John Wells, the event organizer.

After returning to Iowa after traveling as vendors at various Comic Con events throughout the world, Wells and his wife, Kim, noticed the lack of similar events in their hometown — so they did something about it.

“We started with 18 tables in a small meeting room at a Holiday Inn, and now we’re hosting shows all over the Midwest,” said Wells. “In places like Davenport, Des Moines, and Peoria, we attract thousands of attendees. Our goal is to offer an affordable, family-friendly event where people can enjoy their fandoms, whether it’s Demon Slayer, Star Wars, GI Joe, or Transformers. You'll find something for everyone at our shows.”

The diversity of the vendors is another unique aspect of Quad Con.

“I call them ‘weekend warriors,’” says Wells. “Our vendors include a full-time post office employee, a police officer, a union elevator engineer in Chicago and several teachers. These are people who do this as a side hustle because they love it.”

A highlight of the weekend will be the Cosplay Showcase on Saturday afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to dress up, for a showcase of their costumes.

Quad Con is a celebration of all things pop culture, bringing together enthusiasts of video games, sci-fi, role-playing, comics, toys, board games and more. Whether you're looking to sell some cherished collectibles or hoping to find that long-lost treasure, this event is the perfect opportunity.

  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Sunday: Noon to 6 p.m.

  • Free admission - The Markland Mall is located at 1114 S. Seventeenth St., Kokomo.
