Mail Carrier Appreciation Day

Mail Carriers, the unsung heroes of America. Delivering more than 4.2 billion packages and 143 billion pieces of mail a year, in all types of weather, we can all agree these guys don’t get enough credit. Mail Carrier Appreciation Day is Feb. 4; let's recognize the effort of these tireless workers with one of the suggestions below!

Items for $20 or less - Federal Employees may not accept gifts over a $20 value

  1. Hand Warmers

  2. Headlamp

  3. Lotion

  4. Chapstick

  5. To-go coffee mug

  6. Breakfast or protein bars

  7. Hand sanitizer

  8. Powdered drink mixes to add to water

  9. Gum or mints

  10. Starbucks or Lexi’s Drink Barn gift cards

  11. Individually packaged snacks

Things that don’t cost money - If buying something isn’t an option, show your appreciation with one of these gestures instead!

  1. Leaving outside lights on for late-night deliveries

  2. Easily visible house numbers and an easy to locate mailbox

  3. A salted, shoveled walkway to the mailbox in the winter

  4. A weather-proof box at the end of your long driveway to put packages in

  5. A thank-you note or have your child draw a picture

You don’t have to wait until Feb. 4 to celebrate your mail carrier. A random act of kindness goes a long way!
