Kokomo Summer KidVentures: Waterworks Park

Summer vacation is here, and it won’t last long. We want you to explore Kokomo and lead you on some fun and simple local adventures with your family each week. Join us each week for a new Summer KidVenture. For our first KidVentrue, we played on the playground at Waterworks Park!

Waterworks park is a great place to play! Located at 1227 E. Carter St., the park is easy to access and has plenty of parking. Children ages 3 and older will love the newly renovated playground. The play set is cars-themed and offers a lot of play options, including a swing set, slides, a rock climbing wall, and a huge rope climbing web. There are also two basketball courts, an outdoor picnic shelter, and plenty of benches along the Wildcat Creek. For those who enjoy being on the water, there is a boat ramp or public access to the creek as well. You may stumble upon the park while walking or biking as Waterworks Park is the eastern trailhead for the Walk of Excellence.

We hope you’ll check out Waterworks park this summer. If you’ve been there before what’s your favorite part of the park? Join us next week for another Summer KidVenture.
