Where to Go for the Best Fall Views in Kokomo (Updated 2024)

As someone who has spent all 28 years of my life within Howard County, I can honestly say I think I’ve seen it all. But every once in a while, the itch for exploring a new area arises, and I just have to scratch it. I get in my car and I drive until I find something worthy of being shared. If you’re a huge fan of the fall season like me, especially the changing of the leaves, you’re in luck! I made a list of some of my favorite locations to experience the beauty of nature this fall, check them out!

Jackson Morrow Park

I’m going to be honest, unless it’s winter and there’s sledding involved (if you know, you know), Jackson Morrow Park isn’t a spot I frequent often. But for research purposes I ventured over to the southwest side of town to check out the ‘100 acre woods’ in Kokomo’s largest park. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Fall hits different at Jackson Morrow Park, go see for yourself!

Jackson Morrow Park is located at 4200 S. Park Road, Kokomo

Highland Park

A world-breaking Sycamore Tree stump isn’t all you’ll stumble upon during a trip to Highland Park. You’ll also find a frisbee-golf course, paved and natural walking paths, and beautiful fall foliage! Don’t let fall slip away without making a trip to this scenic park.

Highland Park is located at 900 W. Defenbaugh St., Kokomo

Driving Down Old Sycamore

Taking a drive down Old Sycamore Road is a fall in Kokomo bucket list necessity! The winding roads with the canopy of vibrant trees make this route a 10 out of 10 for fall views.

Old Sycamore is located where Highway 22 forks into West Sycamore Road

Along The Walk of Excellence Behind Kokomo Municipal Stadium

Last, but not least, one of my favorite spots in downtown Kokomo! Off of South Apperson Way, there’s a path down to the Wildcat Creek along The Walk of Excellence. The trees provide a colorful overhang to this captivating location that really shows off for fall.

This spot is located at where South Apperson Way connects to The Walk of Excellence.

Wildcat Creek Reservoir Park

The autumn colors are truly breathtaking this season, with vibrant leaves reflecting off the calm waters of the reservoir. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful walk, scenic photos, or a relaxing picnic surrounded by nature's fall palette. Don’t miss out on this beautiful local gem—take some time to experience fall at its finest!

Located at 851 County Rd. North 500 E., Kokomo
