Kokomo Kids Eat
Caramel Apple Sundae from Cone Palace
55 W. 300 South, Kokomo, IN 46902 | (765)453-4470
We saw the announcement and headed to Cone Palace for the beginning of Fall seasonal flavors this week. We shared some chocolate soft serve and a caramel apple sundae to start the weekend right. My kids loved the gooey caramel swirled into the vanilla soft serve. They were confused why there were apples in the sundae, but mommy explained and helped make the extra apples disappear. This seasonal favorite makes fall feel like it’s truly here. It will be even better when Cone Palace begins selling the apple cider slushies later this month. Be sure to stop by and get your family a caramel apple sundae before they’re gone.
Kokomo Kids Play
Check out the new Playset at Bon Air Park
2500 N. Purdum St, Kokomo, IN 46901
Bon Air Park had a recent upgrade in its playground equipment with a new play set. The play set is recommended for kids ages five and older and offers many options for those local kids that love climbing. A classic slide and carousel are included in the playset, but the rest of the playset is very unique. In order to get to the slide at the top of the play set you can run or climb in different ways. The playset has a guide to five different routes around the set for a fun challenge. If you haven’t visited Bon Air Park lately, it's definitely worth a visit. Learn more about Bon Air Park and our other local parks and playgrounds in our parks guide.
Kokomo Kids Learn
Look and learn about native wildlife at our local parks
Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department have put together a fun Wildlife Pocket Guide you can print and carry with you on your next hike or adventure at our local parks. The pocket guide includes photos of some wildlife native to Indiana. The guide categorizes animals based on their species and what park(s) you’re most likely to see them. If you don’t see any wildlife, be sure to look for signs of them too! Do some research with your family about these animals to learn more about their habitats and why they like to hang out near your favorite parks. Remember, it’s important to allow wild animals to be wild, don’t attempt to feed or pet wildlife even when they look cute and friendly. Check out our guide to nearby parks and places for you and your family to play.
