Senior Day at IUK: Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Shine on a Special Day

Saturday afternoon was not only a day of basketball action, but it was also Senior Day for the IU Kokomo Cougars. Both the men’s and women’s teams celebrated their senior players with heartfelt ceremonies, before hitting the court for two exciting matchups against Brescia (KY).
Men’s Game: IU Kokomo 96, Brescia (KY) 63
On Senior Day, the IU Kokomo men’s team delivered a dominant 96-63 victory over Brescia (KY), capping off an emotional and exciting game. The Cougars were led by stellar performances from senior players, including Noah Harris, who put up 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Harris, a senior, was instrumental in leading his team to victory, showing why he’s been such a key piece for IU Kokomo throughout the season.
The Cougars controlled the game from the start, leading 44-31 at halftime. Their shooting was on point, finishing the game at 50.7% from the field, with Dell DeMyers hitting 5 of 7 from deep to finish with 19 points. The team played a well-rounded game, with senior players like Max Newman contributing 18 points and 19 rebounds, showing the team’s depth and ability to execute on both ends of the floor.
Women’s Game: IU Kokomo 63, Brescia (KY) 58
The IU Kokomo women’s team also had a special Senior Day win, edging out Brescia (KY) 63-58 in a hard-fought battle. After trailing 36-27 at halftime, the Cougars came out strong in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter, where they scored 19 points to close out the game.
Anna Kiser, one of the senior players honored during the ceremony, led the way for the Cougars with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Mia Catey, another senior, contributed with 16 points, leading the team through some tough shooting stretches. The Cougars showed resilience, finishing the game strong with 21 made free throws out of 30 attempts.
Both the men’s and women’s teams celebrated their seniors in style, with key contributions from the upperclassmen as they finished their final regular season games on their home court. These victories not only gave the teams momentum heading into the postseason, but also gave their seniors a memorable sendoff.
