It’s easy to say that Kokomo is so boring when you don’t know what’s going on in town. Even our kids love telling us how dull life can get when your days all look the same. We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer. Here’s something you can do with your kids every day this week! Take a look and tell them we sent you!


  • Monday, Sept. 16, 2024

    • Open Bowling at Heritage Lanes | 5 - 10 p.m.

      Fun for the whole family

      Start your week with some fun and call Heritage lanes to check for open bowling availability. They have open bowling from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays where a group of five can bowl for an hour for $40 (that includes those fancy bowling shoes). Bowling is an easy and fun activity for the whole family and you can grab some grub at Roddy’s while you’re there. Be sure to call for lane availability and check out their website and Facebook page for last minute updates. Also — it’s buy one, get one bowling for all Kokomo Post Pass members. You’re welcome.

      Looking for a fun, family friendly way to get moving? Drums Alive is a fitness program designed for all ages and abilities. The program engages participants in cardio drumming with fun and upbeat music. Everyone can participate at their own pace and comfort level. Be sure to register for these events as there are limited spots available. You can register on the KHCPL Website and see when other classes are available under the events tab.

    • Play Pinball at Scanlines Arcade |  3 -10 p.m.

      Fun for all ages

      Share the nostalgia of playing at the arcade with your family this week. Scanlines Arcade is located just off of Dixon Rd. and is open from 3-10 p.m. on Wednesdays for a ton of fun. On Wednesdays pinball games are set to only $0.50 per game! They have many pinball games, but also some classic and new arcade games made to test your skills.     • Visit the Kirkendall Interpretive Nature Center at Jackson Morrow Park

      Fun for the Whole Family

      The Kirkendall Nature Center is currently operating on their winter schedule with open hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The nature center is home to many Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department (KPRD) programs and activities including creature features throughout the year.. If you’ve never visited the nature center, it is a great place to learn more about local wildlife species, plants and insects. In addition to the preserved and live animals, the nature center has games, books, and other hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.

    • Dance Party and Family Movie Night at KHPCL Russiaville | 6:30 p.m.

      Fun for the whole family

      The staff of KHCPL Russiaville will kick off the Friday night fun with a Dance party with DJ Gerry. Bring your chairs or lay out a blanket and sing along with us at this FREE Public Event. You can watch Disney’s “Herbie Fully Loaded” with your family and celebrate the beginning of fall.     • Chess Club at the Carver Community Center | 4-6 p.m.

      The Carver Center is excited to offer the chance for local youth to learn and grow their Chess skills and strategy. All ages and skill levels are welcome, but please bring your own board if you have one. Chess club is another benefit of your Carver Community Center Membership with discounted rates. Others we aren’t members are welcome to join in for just $10 per week or $15 per month. Parents are encouraged to stay and play too. You can follow their Facebook Page for updates or give them a call for more information and to get registered.

  • Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024

    • Jump at Gravity Trampoline Park | 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

      Fun for the whole family

      Check out Gravity Trampoline Park on Sundays for open jump from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and salvation from 6-8 p.m. Open jump allows the whole family to jump around the entire park listening to the top music hits at $15 per hour of jump time. Later in the day salvation jump time gives you access to the trampoline park for $12 with your favorite worship music playing.
