The Kokomo Post Kids: Weekly Fun Calendar

It’s easy to say that Kokomo is so boring when you don’t know what’s going on in town. Even our kids love telling us how dull life can get when your days all look the same. We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer. Here’s something you can do with your kids every day this week! Take a look and tell them we sent you!

    • Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Since being enacted as a federal holiday and National Day of Service in 1983, the third Monday in January honors the civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who was assassinated in 1968. Add a little history lesson to your family fun this week and take time to learn about the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or spend the day as he would doing something good for others. There will be a Community Ecumenical Service beginning at 11 a.m. at Secondary Missionary Baptist Church (818 N. Apperson Way, Kokomo, IN 46901) concluding with a march to our local MLK monument. In observance of the holiday, banks and other businesses will be closed.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
