We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer. Open Play at the Very Early Childhood Education Center

Recommended for children ages 0-5 for kindergarten readiness
The Very Early Childhood Education Center, the ultimate play space for preschoolers, offers open play hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week. With each visit, children receive a free book and age-appropriate learning activity. This free, public resource center provides many opportunities for play and learning. The play space includes toys, structures that inspire imaginative play, and hands-on learning activities that encourage building and engineering. Brick & Console at the Kokomo-Howard-County Public Library Russiaville Branch

For participants ages 6-13Local master builders won’t want to miss this program at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Russiaville Branch. Brick & Console is a crossover event where the virtual world of Lego combines with the hands-on experience of building with bricks. Participants can register by calling any KHCPL Location. Fun for the whole family!
As the temperatures drop and fall turns to winter we can get excited to practice some of our favorite holiday traditions like going Ice Skating. Public skating is available from 12 to 10 p.m. this Friday. Now in its seventh year, the Frozen Sandlot is made possible by the partnership between Bridges Outreach and the City of Kokomo. Thanks to the City of Kokomo, all of the proceeds will benefit Bridges Outreach and youth in our community. Chess Club at the Carver Community Center | 4 to 6 p.m.

The Carver Center is excited to offer the chance for local youth to learn and grow their Chess skills and strategy. All ages and skill levels are welcome, but please bring your own board if you have one. Chess club is another benefit of your Carver Community Center membership with discounted rates. Others who aren’t members are welcome to join in for just $10 per week or $15 per month. Parents are encouraged to stay and play too. Lights in the Air Park at Grissom Air Museum | 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Visit the Grissom Air Museum for a special holiday glow. The indoor museum will be open, and visitors can enjoy the outdoor light display in the airpark. Tickets are $9 for adults and $8 for children ages 6-11. Children 5 and under are free.
Kids can also take home a special craft, making this a fun and unique experience for the whole family. If you miss it this week, the event continues every Thursday through Sunday in December, except for Dec. 24 and 25.
