We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer. The staff at KHCPL Russiaville are ready to train your family to be helpful elves this holiday season. Participants will learn gift-wrapping, cookie decorating, and how to surprise friends and family with little acts of kindness. There will be storytime and singing to spread cheer. Fun for the whole family
The Kirkendall Nature Center is currently operating on its winter schedule with open hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The nature center is home to many Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department (KPRD) programs and activities, including creature features throughout the year. If you’ve never visited, it’s a great place to learn more about local wildlife species, plants, and insects. In addition to preserved and live animals, the nature center has games, books, and other hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Fun for all ages
Share the nostalgia of playing at the arcade with your family this week. Scanlines Arcade is located just off of Dixon Road and is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for a ton of fun. Watch the Kokomo Downtown Christmas Parade | 6:30 p.m.
Kick off the beginning of the Christmas Season in Kokomo by attending the lighted Christmas parade in downtown. This can be an annual family tradition! Once you stake out your spots to sit on the parade route there are many pre-parade activities beginning as early as 4 p.m. You and your family can enjoy Christmas carolers, elves, food and craft vendors, and train rides, Be sure to bundle up and bring a bag for all of the goodies you’ll get during the parade.

Lights in the Air Park at Grissom Air Museum | 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Visit the Grissom Air Museum for a special holiday glow. The indoor museum will be open, and visitors can enjoy the outdoor light display in the airpark. Tickets are $9 for adults and $8 for children ages 6-11. Children 5 and under are free.
Kids can also take home a special craft, making this a fun and unique experience for the whole family. If you miss it this week, the event continues every Thursday through Sunday in December, except for Dec. 24 and 25.
