There are a ton of amazing nonprofit organizations in our community. If you’re looking for ways to give back, but aren’t sure where to start, you’ve come to the right spot. Check out some awesome opportunities to help make a difference.


NEW IN NONPROFITS

The Very Early Childhood Education Center Offers Free Community Pantry and Sensory Science Activities for Toddlers

The Very Early Childhood Education Center is now offering a FREE area for parents to take and give household items as needed. The center is currently accepting diapers, baby wipes, cereals, canned goods, individual snacks, boxes of Mac n’ cheese, bar soap, shampoo, deodorant and infant books. Anything useful to parents is welcome.

The center is also now offering Sensory Science events for toddlers. Caregivers are invited to join them on the date below for an educational and fun time doing interactive science projects including Ketchup volcanos, making slime and more.

The dates are as follows all beginning at 10:30 a.m.
June 27 | Slime
July 11 | Skittles Rainbow
July 18 | Clouds and Rain
July 25 | Dancing Rice/Raisins

DSI Kokomo, Bona Vista’s Partner, Receives $20,000 Grant from Duke Energy

A $20,000 grant was presented to DSI Kokomo to support programs that address pressing skill gaps in underserved, low-income and diverse audiences. The money will go toward several programs, including creating a new outdoor learning space for clients, buying new classroom technology and creating training opportunities for staff.

1-Year Anniversary Celebration of Widows’ Purse

You’re invited to a worship night to celebrate Widows’ Purse's 1-year Anniversary! Woodlands, Bridgeway, Impact Life and Greater Faith Christian Center will take the stage at Foster Park for an evening of worship. There will be a silent auction featuring date night, girl’s night out and other family packages from local restaurants and the first pitch for Jackrabbits’ Star Wars Night!

Kokomo Pride Festival

Kokomo Pride Festival returns to the historic bricks in downtown Kokomo from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 for an all-out afternoon of food, music, fellowship and family fun. All ages are welcome!

Festival After Party Drag Show

After the Pride Festival, guests are welcome to the Sun King Patio (weather permitting) at 8 p.m. for an all-age drag show. Tickets can be purchased here for $20 per person. Click here to purchase your tickets.
