This Week in Kokomo: Can’t-Miss Events and Local Highlights
As the community buzzes with excitement, make sure you check out these can't-miss events and experiences coming your way. From concerts to festivals, there's always something for everyone in the City of Firsts!
Kokomo Klash
The Kokomo Klash is set for Oct. 11 and 12 at the Kokomo Speedway. Friday, Oct. 11, features the Darland Classic with Kokomo Sprint Cars, RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Thunder Cars. General admission is $20, with kids 12 and under free.
The pit gate opens at 3 p.m., grandstands at 4 p.m., and hot laps and qualifying begin at 6 p.m., with racing to follow.
Saturday, Oct. 12, will highlight the XR Super Series Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets. Qualifying begins at 4 p.m. with races to follow.
The Little Black Dress Event
Join the Little Black Dress Event at The Experience at Kokomo Country Club from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024.
This special evening raises awareness for domestic violence and supports the Family Service Association of Howard County’s Domestic Violence Shelter, a haven for victims.
Enjoy a night of food, entertainment, music, and more, while contributing to an important cause in our community.

Movie Night at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library
Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and enjoy the last outdoor movie of the season at the Russiaville library!
Join them for a spooky, fun evening watching Sony Pictures, “Hotel Transylvania".” Popcorn provided.
When: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11
Where: Kokomo Howard County Public Library, Russiaville Branch
‘The Wizard of Oz’ by Curtain Call Theatre for Kids
Follow the yellow brick road to this live production of “The Wizard of Oz,” presented by the Curtain Call Theatre for Children.

When: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 and 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12
Where: Havens Auditorium, Indiana University Kokomo
Rockers for Knockers
Performances include One Voice at 7:15 p.m., InsideOut at 8 p.m., and Mike Milligan & Steam Shovel at 9 p.m. The Muse Carnivale Dancers will entertain throughout the night.
All ages are welcome, and food and drinks will be available, including Sarah’s famous Coney dogs and nachos.
Proceeds from the event will benefit local hospitals' mammogram assistance programs, providing funds for women who cannot afford screenings.

Doors open at 6 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 12 and tickets are $20 at the door.
