The We Care Store Reopens for the 2024 Season
The We Care season is in full swing here in Kokomo, marking the return of one of this community’s most time-honored traditions. Established over five decades ago, We Care has become a community tradition that brings together thousands of volunteers and donors to support causes such as mental health services, food and housing support, and assistance for families in crisis.
The season kicked off in Kokomo with the annual Trim-A-Tree Festival at Markland Mall, running from Nov. 4 to 17. The event features trees and wreaths decorated by local businesses, organizations, and volunteers. Visitors can donate by placing change in buckets to vote for their favorite displays, with all proceeds supporting We Care’s community efforts.
The festival concludes on Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. with an auction of the trees and wreaths to the highest bidders.
The We Care Store is also open for the season at 1700 E. Sycamore St. in Kokomo. From Nov. 4 to 16, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., the store offers treats like cheeseballs, caramel puffs, Doo-Dah, soup mixes, dip mixes, chips, and other items, along with We Care merchandise and keepsakes.
New this year, the store is selling tie-dye sweatshirts in green, purple, pink, and blue. These popular sweatshirts are available while supplies last.
The We Care Store will reopen during the We Care Telethon from Dec. 6 to 8, offering a 72-hour shopping opportunity.
We Care remains a significant community tradition, supporting local families in need. For information on donating, volunteering, or learning more, visit the We Care website.
