Friday night’s Kokomo Post Sports Game of the Week, partnered with Robert Miller & Son Furniture, took us to Eastern High School to see the Comets take on the Tigers from Northwestern High School. The first home rivalry to start off the new year saw both teams answering shot for shot during the entire game. The Comets took advantage of fast breaks to make easy points and draw out fouls. By halftime Eastern had the lead by just two points with a score of 18-16. Northwestern regrouped and had a big third quarter to finally take the lead with a score of 31-28. After keeping the pressure up, the Tigers scored a few points in the last minutes of the fourth quarter to keep the lead just ahead of the Comets. After some worthy attempts by the Comets, the Tigers were able to take the game 44-41.
