Friday night’s Kokomo Post Sports Game of the Week, partnered with Robert Miller & Son Furniture, took us down to Tipton High School to see the Eastern Comets take on the Tipton Blue Devils. Both came into the game with a win streak which meant tensions were high on both sides for who would build the momentum first. The Comets started the game off by completing a field goal for a 3-0 start in the first minutes of the game. The Blue Devils rebutted with some good completions to move down the field and scored a touchdown in the last minutes of the first quarter. The Comets responded with their own touchdown to put themselves back on top with a score of 9-7. Both teams seemed evenly matched with the amount of pass completions and defensive stops. Both teams scored another touchdown in the third, but with Tipton’s effective field goal blocks the score was tied at 15-15. Eastern scooped a touchdown in the last few minutes of the fourth quarter and after holding the Blue Devils down the Comets grabbed the win 21-15.
