The Kokomo Post Sports - Girls Varsity Basketball - Western Panthers vs. University Trailblazers (Photo Gallery)
We took a trip, on Tuesday night, to Western High School to catch their Panthers take on the University High School Trailblazers. The Trailblazers had great ball control but they couldn’t slow down the Panthers from getting boards and putbacks to keep the game close. The end of the first quarter had the Panthers in the lead 10-7. In the second quarter the Trailblazers continued putting the pressure on and were able to take the lead 25-21. Although the Trailblazers had a select few putting up most of the points , and the Panthers had a good spread of players contributing, both teams tied in total third quarter points at 21. University continued to lead in points going into the fourth quarter, but that didn’t keep Western from putting up big numbers and outscoring the Trailblazers in total quarter points 22-10. The Panthers got the win and finished off the game 64-56.
