Staycation in Kokomo: An Unforgettable Adventure with D&M Mini's and Exotics

As spring break is upon us, The quest for exciting adventures and activities is on everyone’s mind. Maybe this year, you've opted for a "staycation" – staying local and exploring the hidden gems right here in Kokomo. And guess what? We've got just the thing to make your staycation truly memorable!

We recently introduced our latest addition to the "Staycation" video series – an exciting and one-of-a-kind journey through D&M Mini's and Exotics, Kokomo's newest and most exciting attraction. D&M Mini's and Exotics is not your average petting zoo. They care for an array of exotic creatures, including kangaroos, porcupines, emus, miniature cows, goats, ducks, horses, and the star of the show – the spider monkey, Marlee.

Accompanied by The Kokomo Post kids, we took a tour of this fascinating facility, led by the owner, Dave Harris. Dave shared fascinating insights into the lives of these animals while encouraging questions along the way.

From feeding sessions to playful interactions, every moment was filled with joy and laughter. As the tour ended, it was time for the real highlight – one-on-one time with the exotic star of the show. Each child had the privilege of holding Marlee, the two-pound spider monkey, who was full of personality, cuddles and kisses.

But the excitement didn't end there. Next up was some cuddles with the baby kangaroo. The kangaroo nestled in a cozy hammock, was passed to each child who took turns cuddling this adorable marsupial.

As the visit drew to a close, the feeding of the horses, sheep, and other friendly animals outside the facility created a lasting spring break experience for The Kokomo Post Kids.

The experience at D&M Mini's and Exotics left us all reeling for days and if you're eager to see all the fun and adventures we had, catch the full episode here.
