KRA-Z Donuts Brings Mouth-Watering Mini Donuts to Kokomo
A sweet new business in Kokomo is serving up mouth-watering donuts that have been garnering lots of attention on social media and at local events.
KRA-Z Donuts, a mini donut mobile business, offers fresh, customizable mini cake donuts made to order, earning five-star reviews from delighted customers.
We chatted with 21-year-old Kaylee Aeschliman, one of the owners of KRA-Z Donuts, to learn more about this delicious venture and where we can get our hands on their tasty offerings.
Aeschliman said she and her cousins Regan Aeschliman, 17, and Allison Boyle, 18, started the business after snagging a donut fryer a family member was selling, and KRA-Z donuts was born.
KRA-Z Donuts has been serving up their sweet treats at events like First Friday in Kokomo and other local gatherings. It's no surprise they are attracting large crowds as customers are immediately drawn in by the warm mini donuts topped with chocolate drizzle, nuts, fruits, and more. Just seeing photos of these treats will have us drooling.
“We are very proud to be young women starting our own small business,” Aeschliman said. “We are very family-oriented people and grew up working at our family’s businesses, so we love being able to do this together and are thankful for all the help we receive from our family members. Even the little ones help us out, and we love being able to show them that anything is possible and teach them how to have a good work ethic from a young age, just like we learned as kids.”
Aeschliman said she and her cousins are no strangers to being hands-on when it comes to family businesses. They say an opportunity and knew they had to take it.
“A family friend was selling a donut fryer,” she said, which piqued their interest and creativity. “After doing some research and coming together to make a plan, we were up and operating in just three months."
She said the trio is now learning the ins and outs of operating a business themselves.
“Just since starting in April, we have learned so much about what does and doesn’t work for our business,” she said. “We’ve had great feedback from everyone who has tried our donuts, which is really exciting. We hope in the future customers will reach out and have us set up at their special events, such as birthdays, graduations, work events, etc., for their guests. This would be exciting because it would be a great opportunity to help our business grow."
