Kokomo Beach is Ready to Make a Splash for the 2024 Season
As the school year winds down and kids eagerly start counting the days until summer, there's one event that marks the official start of fun in Kokomo: the reopening of Kokomo Beach! This weekend, the local oasis opened its gates for the 2024 season, offering excitement and the go-to spot for family fun in the sun. Whether you're a regular or a newcomer, Kokomo Beach has something for everyone.
We chatted with Allison Reed, recreation manager at the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department, to get some insight into the opening weekend and more.
“Opening weekend was amazing!” she said. “After so many rainy days, we had a beautiful weekend with warm weather for the community to come enjoy Kokomo Beach finally for the first time this summer!”
Attractions Galore
Kokomo Beach has an impressive range of attractions that cater to all ages. So, what can you expect?
Giant Water Slides: Feel the rush as you zoom down the thrilling slides, perfect for adventure seekers of all ages.
Lap Pools: Ideal for those looking to get some serious swimming in or just enjoy a dip.
Splash Pad: A hit with the younger crowd, the splash pad offers endless fun with water sprays and fountains.
Kiddie Area: Specially designed for the little ones, ensuring a safe and fun environment.
Lazy River: Drift along and relax in an inner tube while floating through waves and the figure eight.
Food Court: Enjoy a variety of tasty treats and refreshments to curb your cravings throughout the day.
If it’s been a while since your last visit, you’re in for some surprises. Some newer additions to Kokomo Beach include upgrades to the lounge island at the lazy river and a water jungle gym for kids equipped with slides, tunnels, and water sprayers.

Kokomo Beach is more than just a place to swim and sunbathe. Throughout the season, they host a variety of events to make your visits even more memorable:
Family Movie Nights: Enjoy a unique cinema experience by floating in the pool while watching a family-friendly movie under the stars.

And something new that Allison mentioned is the Kid’s Luau Family Night on Wednesday, June 26th from 7-9 p.m., with a reduced entry fee of only $3.00 per person (under 2 is free)! There will be some fun activities that aren’t normally available during the day, making it a great opportunity for families to enjoy extra fun swim time together.
