Celebrate the 2024 Solar Eclipse with The Kokomo Post Coloring Contest
Here at The Kokomo Post, we’re all about fostering creativity and celebrating community spirit. Our monthly coloring contests have been a huge success, thanks to the incredible talent of kids all over Kokomo. Each month, we explore different themes, from holidays to local events, and this month, we have something truly special in store – the 2024 solar eclipse!
On April 8, 2024, a celestial spectacle will unfold as a total solar eclipse graces the skies over North America, passing over Mexico, the United States and Canada. What makes it even more special is that certain parts of Indiana, including our beloved Kokomo, will witness this phenomenon in all its glory. It's such a monumental occasion that local schools are closing for the day, and organizations across the city are hosting viewing parties and events to mark the occasion.
To commemorate this unique event, we're thrilled to announce our latest coloring contest. We've created a unique illustration that captures the magic of the solar eclipse. This coloring page isn't just any ordinary activity – it's a chance for kids to create a keepsake that will remind them of this extraordinary moment in history.
Entering the coloring contest is as easy as pie:
Print off the coloring page provided on our website.
Let your creativity soar as you color, paint, or craft your masterpiece.
Have a parent or teacher snap a photo of your artwork.
Email the photo to Bree@thekokomopost.com, making sure to include your name and age.
But wait, there's more! The excitement continues beyond the submission deadline on April 15. Our team will face the tough task of selecting the top entries to advance to the online people's choice voting round.
The voting period will run from April 16 to April 30, giving our community the chance to support their favorite creations and crown the ultimate winner. And speaking of winners, let's talk prizes:
1st Place: $50 gift card to Scoop’s Ice Cream!
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your art supplies, unleash your imagination, and join us in celebrating this historic solar eclipse through art.
This contest is open to children ages 12 and under.
