Local Fireworks Shows Celebrate Independence Day

It’s that time of the year again, firework shows are returning for memorable summer evenings. We’ve scoured the area for the best free and local shows to enjoy this Independence Day. Check them out below!


Kokomo:

Haynes Apperson Festival:

When: 10 p.m. Saturday, July 2
Where: Foster Park, 721 W. Superior St.
Additional Information: Following the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert

Jackrabbits Games:

When: After the games on July 9, July 16, and Aug. 6.
Where:
Kokomo Municipal Stadium, 400 S. Union St., Kokomo

Mercy Church:

When: 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3
Where:
Mercy Church, 726 N. 300 West, Kokomo
Additional Information:
Free popcorn, cotton candy, lemon shake-ups, water and ice pops before the show!

Kokomo Speedway

When: Following the race Sunday, July 3
Where:
Kokomo Speedway, 2455 N. Davis Road, Kokomo
Additional Information:

Greentown:

When: At dusk Monday, July 4 
Where: Howard County 4-H Fairgrounds, 610 E. Payton St., Greentown 
Additional Information: No personal fireworks permitted


Tipton 

God Bless the USA Fireworks Sky Concert 

When: 10:04 P.M. Monday, July 4 
Where: Tipton Co. 4-H Fairgrounds, 1200 S. Main St., Tipton


Marion

Gardens of Matter Park Independence Day Celebration

When: 5 p.m. Sunday, July 3
Where:
Gardens of Matter Park 1 Matter Park Circle, Marion
Additional Information: Enjoy food vendors, face painting, and other family activities from 5 to 7 p.m. From 6 to 8 p.m. there will be live music from DJ Tony, with Cook & Belle taking the stage at 8 p.m.


Peru

Fireworks at The Park

When: 7 p.m. Monday, July 4
Where:
Maconaquah Park, 1496 Strawtown Pike, Peru
Additional Information: Games and entertainment are taking place before and after the fireworks show, which begins at dusk.


Walton

Walton July 4th Festival

When: All day, kicking off at 8 a.m. Monday, July 4
Where:
Various locations throughout Walton
Schedule:
8 a.m.: Walton Independence Day 5K Run/Walk at The American Legion Post 418
2 p.m.: Parade through town on Highway 35
4 to 8 p.m.: Car Show at Walton Fire Department
4 to 7 p.m.: Fish fry at Walton Christian Church for Lewis Cass Band
Dusk: Fireworks display - park along Highways 218 and 35 as well as Lewis Cass School
