Kokomo Symphony Celebrates 50 Years with TV Dinner Singalong
Do you think you know the tune better than your friends? Let the best music decipherer win!
Help the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra celebrate 50 years of wonderful entertainment here in Kokomo at the annual TV Dinner Singalong fundraiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at The Experience.
Grab your ’70s outfit and your TV dinner appetite for an experiential evening of live music, name-that-tune, music trivia and a silent auction to raise funds to continue providing Kokomo with live music for the next 50 years.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m., where guests will be greeted with music from a quartet that includes the Artistic Director and Conductor of the KSO José Valencia.
Johnny and the Remotes will take the stage at 7 p.m. to officially kick off the ’70s celebration with your favorite rock and disco hits. The evening will include a silent auction with about 25 items that include Colts tickets, a wedding dress and so much more. After a nod to the nostalgia of the ’70s TV dinners with food provided by Tanks BBQ, a game of Name-That-Tune will be played on a violin, where guests can guess the ’70s song based on a short melody.
“It’s a pretty atmosphere, a pretty venue and just a relaxing and fun environment,” said Jennifer Rollins, director of development at the Kokomo Symphonic Society.
“We’re just excited to celebrate 50 years, and the community has supported us for that long,” said Rollins. “We’re hoping this is another instance where our community supports us with attendance and the silent auction that continues to help us support the organization's existence as a nonprofit.”
Tickets are $60 a person or $500 for a table of ten. Tickets can be purchased here.
