Kokomo Summer KidVentures: Kokomo Municipal Stadium

Summer vacation is here, and it won’t last long. We want you to explore Kokomo and lead you on some fun and simple local adventures with your family each week. For our next weekly KidVenture, we played at Kokomo Municipal Stadium!

Owned and maintained by the City of Kokomo, Kokomo Municipal Stadium is home to many special community events. However, the stadium is truly alive in the summer when the Kokomo Jackrabbits are in town.

The season will end soon, but you still have a few chances to attend a game and have a blast with your family. If you check out the Kokomo Jackrabbits promotional schedule, you’ll see that on select nights they offer special themes and fireworks after the game.

We recently attended a promotional game stayed late for fireworks. Toddlers and young kids may not want to sit and watch baseball the entire game so we were sure to visit the concession stand, meet Jax and take a small break at the playground. The playground at the stadium is near right field and is a great place for kids to let out some energy. The playset has multiple levels and pieces to fit a wide range of ages and abilities. There are slides, a baseball field, places to climb and a small pebble bridge. The playground is covered with a safety net and there are benches and tables for guardians to sit at nearby.

We hope you’ll visit Kokomo Municipal Stadium this summer. If you’ve been there before, what’s your favorite part to play in? Join us next week for another Summer KidVenture.
