Kokomo Pride Fest 2024: A Vibrant Celebration of Love and Unity
Another year brings another vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride to the heart of Kokomo! This Saturday, from 3 to 7 p.m., the historic bricks of 500 N. Buckeye Street will come alive with music, entertainment and community celebration at the 2024 Kokomo Pride Fest.
But for organizers, the event's meaning goes deeper than the bright rainbows and fun at this one-day festival.

“It’s so important for us to show up and represent, show that we’re here and we’re proud. We’re representing the struggle that we’ve had and remembering the people that fought that fight for us,” said Shey Adams, Kokomo Pride Festival chairperson.
The Kokomo Pride Fest is known for its lively atmosphere and promises to be no different this year. Local artist and Pride supporter DJ Lost will spin tunes to keep the energy high and the atmosphere vibrant. Her set promises to be a highlight of the event, creating a festive backdrop for the celebrations.
A variety of vendors will be present, offering unique merchandise and delicious food. From Radish Market & Cafe, Lucky Lemon, and Etta's Gooey Goodies providing mouth-watering food, to Uniques by Mary, Sherrill Studios, and 20 other local artists and businesses showcasing their creations, there will be plenty to explore and enjoy.

In addition to entertainment and shopping, the festival will provide free services and resources to support the LGBTQ+ community. The Community Howard Regional Care Mobile will be offering free health checks and education. The Kokomo Howard County Public Library will be on hand to sign folks up for library cards, and the Equality Indiana Educational Fund, a non-profit organization, will assist people in registering to vote. There will be many more community organizations and resources available to engage with and learn from.
“What we try to do is to serve as a voice for the LGBTQ+ community in Kokomo and the surrounding area, providing a safe space for those people in that community,” said Adams.
One of the standout features of the Kokomo Pride Fest is that admission is completely free for everyone to join! Regardless of age, background or financial situation, everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.
