Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:

$1 Lunch Slices from Hot Box Pizza Kokomo
Alright, Hot Box Pizza has been hyping up dollar slice day for a while now and I must admit, I was invested in their marketing campaign. I think I forwarded their emails to each of my colleagues at least twice in the week leading up to this “national holiday.”
But alas, I am personally am not eating dairy, soy, or gluten right now (living that Whole30 life…but that’s for another blog.) So I bullied empowered my co-worker Anne Marie to treat herself on the cheap! Her results did not disappoint. Hot Box Pizza is an Indianapolis stand-by that we have right here in the City of Firsts. It is tasty pizza that works well for a Friday family night but if you pair a $1 slice with a salad, you have created the perfect lunch.

Breaded Tenderloin from Artie’s Tenderloin
Artie’s is, perhaps, Kokomo’s most famous tenderloin stop, and for good reason. They’ve been a Main Street staple since 1938 and they’re serving up simple, delicious, no-nonsense Hoosier classics.
Our team stopped in this week to pick up a tenderloin (or six) and we were reminded why we love Artie’s. It’s an old-fashioned diner that is everything you want it to be. Tenderloins twice the size of the bun? Classic fries? Daily comfort food specials? Find us there on our lunch break.
