Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:

Guinness Beef Stew from Cook McDoogal’s Irish Pub

Beef stew in Spring? We know. But this pick has been hiding right in front of our eyes because of all the other tasty dishes on the Cook McDoogal’s menu. This savory stew is a secret family recipe. Which, according to our very own Bree Bragg is “regular beef stew but amplified!”

It is a relatively simple stew with the classic beef, carrots, celery and tomato but there’s an addition of something extra that takes it to the next level.

Pickle Sub from FreshBlendz

Watching your carb intake? Looking for a lighter lunch option? Obsessed with pickles? Have we got a pick for you!

One of Kokomo’s newest destinations for healthier options, Fresh Blendz offers fresh juices, smoothies, salads, and arguably what is causing them to be Koko-viral, the pickle sub.

Our team tried the chicken, bacon, ranch sub and it got rave reviews. Our only word of advice: make sure you are seated with a napkin nearby. The pickle sub is fabulous but it can be a bit messy. #WorthIt

Kokomo Downtown Farmers’ Market Membership

Our beloved farmers’ market turns 20 this year! This week they rolled out their Market Membership program for 2021 and we think it’s the best year yet. It’s $150 for the year, and the membership includes weekly members-only deals and discounts, recipes, and gardening and cooking tips, along with Market swag and event tickets. We love their downtown store and cafe, but we can’t wait for opening weekend!

Check out their website here for more details about the Market Membership.

What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
