Impress Dad This Father’s Day: Tips, Tricks and Local Gems

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and here at The Kokomo Post, we couldn’t be more excited to present a brand-new video series dedicated to highlighting local businesses offering fantastic options for dads! Whether you’re looking for a fun activity to enjoy with your dad or aiming to impress him with your grilling and drink-making skills, we’ve got you covered to ensure this Father’s Day is truly memorable.

In the first episode of our series, Drew had the pleasure of meeting up with Fred Schorm from Dr. Ashburn’s Pepper Emporium and Mike Degraffenreid from My Beef Guy. Dr. Ashburn’s is a hot spot here in Kokomo, renowned for its wide array of hot sauces and fiery snacks perfect for the heat lovers in your life. However, you might be surprised to learn that Ashburn’s also carries an extensive selection of rubs, sauces, spreads, and more that cater to everyone's taste buds, not just those who enjoy the spicier side of life.

My Beef Guy, on the other hand, is a bulk beef, pork and chicken supplier serving Howard County and surrounding areas, known for providing top-quality cuts that you might have tried at your favorite local restaurants. These two businesses teamed up for an epic video to show Drew the ropes of grilling up some delicious, easy, and elevated meats for your Father's Day festivities.

Mike brought along an assortment of burgers, steaks, pork chops and his expert grilling tips, while Fred supplied the flavor enhancers—blueberry mustard rub, Bear & Bourton’s W sauce, Frag’que savory rub, and Blanco Meat Church. Even though Drew is no stranger to grilling, he picked up a few new tips and tricks from Mike and discovered some mouthwatering flavors.

What you don’t see in the video is that Drew and The Kokomo Post crew couldn't resist making some flavorful purchases of their own before leaving the shoot! So, if you’re looking to step up your grilling game this Father's Day and impress your dad, make sure to click here to watch it all unfold. And don’t forget to follow Dr. Ashburn's Pepper Emporium and My Beef Guy to stay updated with all their latest offerings!

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at The Kokomo Post!
