Do not whip up pumpkin-flavored treats

Pumpkin pancakes, muffins, pie… the list is endless. You’ll want to avoid baking as a family so you don’t make a mess in your kitchen, have tons of fun, and create a special bond with your favorite people. Besides, who wants delicious fall treats piling up on their kitchen counters?

Do not have a fall-themed family photoshoot

There are so many talented local photographers right here in Kokomo offering fall mini shoots right now. Don’t do it. You wouldn’t want adorable fall photos with your partner, your family, or your fur babies. If you decide to do it anyway, take our advice and leave the on-trend scarves, boots, and earth tones at home.

Do not have a scary movie marathon

Our tip: do not make popcorn, hot cider, and settle in for a cozy night in with your people. Stay away from classics like Halloween, Scream, and Beetlejuice. Or, if you’re looking for something on the less spooky side, we don’t recommend Halloweentown or Hocus Pocus.

Do not take a trip to the pumpkin patch or apple orchard

Nothing says “fall in Indiana” more than taking a trip to a local pumpkin patch or apple orchard. Waiting for a beautiful sunny day? Spending time outside in the fresh air hunting for the perfect pumpkin? Not if you’re trying to avoid fall fun.

If you haven’t picked up on it by now, we’re joking. In fact, we’re recommending, no, challenging you to do all of these activities this fall before November hits. So many fall activities are safe, family-friendly, and the perfect way to enjoy Kokomo this time of year.
