Howard County: Feb. 28 Basketball Predictions

The final week of the boys high school basketball regular season is here, bringing senior night celebrations across the state. Emotions will run high, and standout performances are almost guaranteed.

With so much talent on display, there’s no better time for fans to support their local teams. Now, let’s break down this week’s matchups and predict the winners.

Kokomo 15-7 vs. Huntington North 9-12

For the third time this season, Kokomo looks to bounce back after losing back-to-back games. The good news for the Wildkats? Their final regular-season matchup is against a Huntington North team that has beaten only two Class 4A opponents this year.

The Vikings are nearing the end of a roller-coaster season, having lost three of their last four games against some of their toughest competition. Kokomo has faced its own challenges, struggling last weekend, but the Wildkats are expected to rally behind Zion Bellamy and finish strong against Huntington North.

Winner: Kokomo

1A Carroll (Flora) 17-4 vs. Eastern 10-11

Eastern is stacking wins at the right time, taking four of its last five games. The Comets will need to carry that momentum into Senior Night when Carroll comes to town.

The Cougars have been one of the top Class 1A teams all season. They enter on a four-game winning streak, averaging 61 points per game during that stretch. Meanwhile, Eastern has beaten just one team with at least 10 wins. The Comets can score in a variety of ways when firing on all cylinders, but that’s unlikely to be the case during their Senior Night showdown.

Winner: Carroll (Flora)
