Heidi’s Hidden Gems - The Frozen Sandlot

Heidi’s Hidden Gem this week is The Frozen Sandlot, a must-visit winter experience located at Kokomo Municipal Stadium!

This seasonal pop-up ice skating rink offers fun for all ages and is a perfect way to enjoy the chilly months while giving back to the community. For just $5, you can skate using your own skates, or for $7, you can rent skates at the rink.

What makes The Frozen Sandlot truly special is its partnership with Bridges Outreach, a local youth organization dedicated to helping students through mentoring and and after-school programming, as well as seasonal jobs and internships. Every visit to the rink directly supports this incredible program, making it more than just a fun outing—it’s a way to give back.

This year, the rink has expanded its offerings with the brand-new Wintertime Village, running on weekends from Nov. 30 to Dec. 22. The village brings even more magic to the season with festive vendors, dazzling holiday lights, visits with Santa, kids’ activities, a petting zoo and photo ops galore. It’s the perfect spot to get into the holiday spirit with family and friends.

With open skate sessions on various days from Nov. 29 to Jan. 12, as shown in the schedule, The Frozen Sandlot is a can’t-miss destination for winter fun in Kokomo. Don’t forget to dress warm and bring your holiday cheer! ⛸️
