Haynes Apperson Festival Musical Lineup Announced - 2024

 
 

The musical lineup for the 2024 Haynes Apperson Festival was released today, Tuesday, May 28 - one month from the annual event. This year’s musical line-up consists of a festival favorite as well as national acts with long lists of hits. 

The festival is set to return to Foster Park from June 27 through 29, featuring live music, rides, a sports festival and so much more.

The 2024 concert lineup will be:

Thursday, June 27: Here Come the Mummies

This Nashville-based funk rock band is a Haynes Apperson Festival favorite with its mysterious band members and enormous sound. Rumored to be Grammy-award-winning musicians skirting contract disputes with record labels, the identities of the band members are kept entirely secret. The band plays into the mummy theme pretty heavily and is a favorite of the Kokomo Performing Arts Pavilion Stage.

The Sugarhill Gang, C+C Music Factory, Quad City DJs and Tone Lōc.

Go back to your throwback hip-hop roots with hits from the past with this amazing lineup for Friday, June 28.

The Sugarhill Gang, an American hip hop group released their hit "Rapper's Delight", released the same year they were formed and was the first rap single to become a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

C+C Music Factory was an American musical group formed in 1989 and is known for their hits, Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)", "Here We Go (Let's Rock & Roll)" and "Things That Make You Go Hmmm..." C+C Music Factory has earned 35 music industry awards, including five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, and two MTV Video Music Awards.

Quad City DJs are Grammy Nominated Multi-Platinum Artists of “C'mon and Ride the Train” "Tootsee Roll" "Space Jam" and "Whoot There It Is".

Tone Lōc is an American rapper known for his hit songs "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina", for which he was nominated for a Grammy Award and for being featured in "We're All in the Same Gang.”

Saturday, June 29:

Journey's Former Lead Vocalist Steve Augeri

Last but not least, Steve Augeri is taking the stage Saturday night to lead the city’s fireworks show with hits from Journey, who he recorded three albums with for eight years from 1998 to 2006. Best known for replacing original lead singer Steve Perry, he debuted with the seven-time platinum “Armageddon” soundtrack.

“I couldn’t think of better songs to lead into Saturday’s firework show,” said Wyman.
