This week’s Game of the Week is presented by Robert Miller and Son Furniture. In an exciting clash on Wednesday June 21, the Kokomo Jackrabbits hosted the Rockford Rivets in a high-stakes baseball showdown. With a crowd of 547 fans basking in the sunny 82-degree weather, both teams took the field, ready to leave their mark.
The game began with the Rivets showing promise, but the Jackrabbits quickly responded with a run in the first inning. The Rivets managed to take a brief lead by scoring two runs in the second, only to be outmatched by the Jackrabbits' explosive four-run rally in the bottom of the inning.
The Jackrabbits continued to dominate, adding another run in the third inning. Both teams displayed impressive defensive performances, but the Rivets struggled to close the gap. Despite scoring two runs in the eighth inning, the Rivets' hopes for a comeback were dashed when the Jackrabbits answered with a three-run surge.
The final score was 9-5 in favor of the Jackrabbits. Pitcher Quinlan Pohorski helped the team secure the win, while the Rivets' Ethan Storm suffered the loss.
