Kokomo Kids Eat:

Breakfast or snack at Jack’s Donuts

3707 S. Reed Road, Kokomo

(765) 450-6495

Donuts with sprinkles are always my kids’ choice when we visit Jack’s. They usually offer the chocolate and vanilla iced sprinkle logs, but I’m not sure how much longer my kids will be blind to the gourmet donut options with fruity pebbles and Oreo cookie crumbles on them. While donuts might not be the healthiest breakfast or snack option for our kids to indulge in often, the idea of going to get donuts can be a core memory for your kids. My son thinks hard and gets on his tippy toes to look at the donuts in the class case before choosing a donut with sprinkles every time.

Kokomo Kids Play:

The 3D Rope Climber at Waterworks Park

1227 E. Carter St., Kokomo

These aren’t necessarily new playground structures, but they look like a ton of fun when you come across one at a new park. The rope climber at Waterworks Park is in the shape of a icosahedron (20 sided polyhedron) and is a great challenge for the climber in your life. As a parent, I struggle with my kids trying to climb on items in our home, so its a win-win to take them to Waterworks Park to get all of that “big play” energy out. After testing it out myself, the rope climber is sturdy and a fun way to get tangled up with your family!

Kokomo Kids Learn:

Art Camp at KHCPL Russiaville

315 Mesa Drive, Russiaville

We attended Art Camp a few weeks ago and had so much fun! When weather allows, it is held in the Nature Explorer Outdoor Classroom at the Russiaville branch of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library and is meant for young artists of all ages with multiple choices of art activities. After participating in the art activities, kids are welcome to continue playing at other outdoor classroom stations while their artwork dries. Don’t forget your drinks and some sunscreen for this spot for summer learning and fun! You can check out Art Camp with your kids on Tuesday July 11 and 18 from 10-11 a.m. at the Russiaville branch of the library
