Kokomo Kids Eat

Popcorn from Rural King
2947 S. Washington St., Kokomo, IN 46902 | (765)864-0043

Anytime we drive south on Washington Street, the kids ask if we can go to the “Farm Store.” While we frequent our local Rural King store for certain supplies, the true purpose of visiting there is to snack on popcorn and visit the chicks and ducks. Since the pandemic, Rural King’s popcorn machine dispenses popcorn with a push button apparatus that keeps everyone from scooping out their own popcorn with their hands. Our boys love to be able to push the button and watch their popcorn bag fill up. If you are a Rural King popcorn lover, you can purchase a bulk bag of popcorn for your office or event to share with everyone.

Kokomo Kids Play

GolfUp 31 at Wildcat Creek Golf Course
3200 Timber Valley Drive, Kokomo, IN 46902
(765)626-6680

We now have the opportunity to play Top Golf-style driving range games right here in Kokomo! This week, we visited Golf Up 31 and played in our own bay as a family of four. The Top Tracer Technology includes multiple games you can play to enhance your driving experience. With young golfers, we chose to play Go Fish where each drive lands in the water and results in a prize fish or item. The facility provides a set of clubs per bay including youth sizes, but you may also bring your own clubs if you prefer them. We had so much fun that the boys were sad when our time ended. During the car ride home, they asked if we could visit again the next day. You can visit Golf Up 31 or dine in at Roarry’s throughout the week and year-round. For more information, visit their website.

Kokomo Kids Learn

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program at KHCPL
https://www.khcpl.org/1000-books

The staff at KHCPL and the 1000 Books Foundation invite you to read with your kids and participate in a free program offered at our very own Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. The program encourages families to read together with the goal of tracking and reading 1,000 books before each child attends kindergarten. Just like we participate and earn prizes in the annual summer reading program, this program celebrates your children for each 100 books they read with a small prize and certificate. We like to track our books using the Beanstack App. Reading isn’t just a learning opportunity; it’s a special time to bond with children of all ages. 1,000 books may be intimidating, but if you begin the challenge early and read every night, you could reach 1,095 books in just three years! For more information about this program you can visit the KHCPL Website.

What are your kids currently in love with around town? Leave us a comment below or on our social media pages so we can check them out!
