Hey, Kokomo! We are introducing a new series around here called Eat, Play, Learn. Each week, our team will share a few of the places our kids are wild about. We hope you discover some new places along the way! Check out this week’s picks for yourself!

Kokomo Kids Eat:

Broasted Chicken for Lunch or Dinner from Country Squire Carryout
502 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902
(765) 453-6444

Not only is this a kid’s pick for the week, but this was my family’s FIRST TIME eating Country Squire and it was delicious! Our boys were hesitant at first because (being toddlers) they said, “It didn’t look like normal chicken,” but both of them were pleasantly surprised after the three-bite rule commenced. They also found it exciting to get to eat with their hands. The sides were a hit with the kids (of course), making most of the french fries and macaroni and cheese disappear. I think next time we may let our oldest go in to help carry out our order to see the magic of the kitchen and smell the fragrance of a delicious chicken dinner.

Kokomo Kids Play:

The NEW “Car Cart” at Menards
1715 E. Havens St. Kokomo, IN 46901
(765) 457-9629

Sometimes we cringe at the thought of going shopping with our kids, but that’s never the case at Menards when we have the chance to use the “Car Cart” as my boys refer to it. Essentially, the “Car Cart” is a smaller cart with a cozy coupe-type car attached to it with room for two children.

Menards recently upgraded their “Car Cart” and even though my oldest says it's just for babies (in comparison to the previous one), they had a blast on our last quick trip as a family. I love how excited they get when they see the “Car Cart” is available to use!

It was a hard lesson at first, but we’re doing much better at sharing the cart when we see other families using it in the store during our visits. I know it's just a cart, but knowing we have a chance to use it while we’re shopping puts my mind at ease and makes us want to shop at Menards more often!

Kokomo Kids Learn:

Kokomo Jackrabbits Games at Kokomo Municipal Stadium
400 S. Union St., Kokomo, IN 46901
(765)457-5000

Watching our Kokomo Jackrabbits play ball is a great way to spend a summer evening with your family and friends. We used to purchase backyard seats when our kids were younger, but now actual seats are a better option. They enjoy sitting together with us and watching the game (maybe not all 9 innings) in anticipation of fireworks after the game on promotional nights, but it's a great way to teach them to sit in their seats, make observations and make their own fun in a safe environment. Snacks from the concession stand make the experience even sweeter too! You can usually catch our boys singing, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” days after the game and dreaming of hitting home runs like the Jackrabbits players!

What would your kids’ picks be? Leave us a comment below or on our social media pages so we can check them out!
