Kokomo Kids Eat

Coney Dogs from Louie’s Coney Island
1700 E. Hoffer St., Kokomo, IN 46902
(765)459-9649

During a busy time of week, we grabbed lunch out last week and went to the Kokomo staple Louie’s Coney Island. While I ordered a bake, the kids were excited to try their first coney dogs with cheese (no onion). They love hot dogs, but can be questionable when trying something new. Typical kids, right?

Unfortunately, my youngest asked for just a hot dog and removed all the good stuff from his coney dog before eating it. However, my older son enjoyed every bite and described the flavor as cheesy and delicious. Stop by and support this long-time Kokomo business by enjoying a classic coney dog or baked hamburger with your family.

Kokomo Kids Play

The KidX Clubhouse at the Markland Mall
Northwest hallway near restrooms outside of Target
1114 S. 17th St., Kokomo, IN 46902

While visiting the Markland Mall, it seems like my kids would rather do anything other than shop with me. I’m so thankful for the extra engaging experiences available to give them a chance to play between all of the boring shopping we need to do. We recently discovered the KidX Clubhouse located in the northwest corner of the mall near the restrooms and the entrance to Target. The club house has a few chairs to sit at with a few supplies and a new color page to complete each month. This may be the perfect brain break for your little shopping buddies. Don’t forget to visit the Markland Mall next month to meet our favorite cotton-tailed friend before Easter.

The first of many highly anticipated programs offered by the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department, the Spring Pint-Sized Chef Program registration will begin on Monday, March 4. Youth ages 5-12 enrolled in this program will learn some cooking basics, including reading a recipe, the names and uses of cooking tools, and taking measurements. They will also prepare a simple dish each week in class. The program is held at Rodgers Pavilion in Highland Park and is limited to 12 per class. These classes fill up quickly, so be sure to complete a registration form and return it with payment to the KPRD Office.
