Kokomo Kids Eat
Breadsticks from HotBox Pizza
2116 E. Markland Ave, Kokomo, IN 46901 | (765) 865-8658
https://www.hotboxpizza.com/
Not sure what you’re hungry for? My kids’ answer is always bread, so we stopped by HotBox Pizza after running errands and grabbed a Sack of Stix for a snack on the way home. This pizza chain is known for its unique Pie of the Month, recognizable reusable cups, and, of course, its delicious breadsticks. The kids love that the breadsticks are warm and crunchy right out of the sack, but they especially enjoy dipping them in pizza sauce or nacho cheese. You can dine in, carry out, or drive through at the Kokomo location just off Markland Avenue. Visit the HotBox Pizza website to view the full menu.

Kokomo Kids Play
Scanlines Arcade
2320 Valentine Dr., Kokomo, IN 46902 | https://www.facebook.com/ScanlinesArcade/
Share the nostalgia of playing at the arcade with your family this week. Scanlines Arcade is located just off of Dixon Road and is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for a ton of fun. The arcade has many pinball games, but also some classic and new arcade games made to test your skills. We’ve grown to become big fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pinball game and the Burger Time arcade game. Sundays are the day to stop by and play even more while all pinball games are set to play for only $0.50. Your kids won’t want to leave! Be sure to check Scanline Arcade’s Facebook page for any last-minute updates or announcements.

Brushing your teeth Kindergarten Readiness Kit
Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Main Branch
220 N. Union St., Kokomo, IN 46901 | (765)457-3242
https://www.khcpl.org/
Starting kindergarten can be a big transition for some children, and the staff at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library want to help set them up for success. Well-known programs like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten encourage daily reading with parents or caregivers to promote kindergarten readiness and early literacy skills. In addition to library programs, KHCPL now offers experience kits that families can use while visiting the library or check out for a short period. These kits include tools and resources to help children practice various kindergarten readiness skills. On a recent visit to KHCPL Main, we explored the dentist experience kit, which helped my son learn about personal hygiene and brushing his teeth in a hands-on way. Just like adults, children learn in different ways, and these kits offer a fun, interactive approach to early education. To browse other Kindergarten Readiness Kits, visit the KHCPL website and check out our new Kindergarten Ready Guide for local families!
