Kokomo Kids Eat

Seasonal Chex Mix from Radish Market & Cafe
115 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo, IN 46901 | (765) 419-7958
https://www.facebook.com/theradishmarket/

Sometimes my kids just need a snack to hold them over between lunch and dinner while we’re out and about. On a recent stop at Radish Market & Cafe, we picked up their seasonal Very Berry Chex Mix to satisfy the extreme hunger coming from the backseat.

There were few words—just a lot of “yum” and the sound of crunching—once the snack was handed over. Radish creates a unique custom Chex Mix that rotates monthly or seasonally, with a new mix announced once the previous batch sells out. The 5-ounce serving was perfect for my kids to share or even an adult in need of a quick pick-me-up. Whether you’re craving something sweet, salty, or just a little different, it’s worth stopping by Radish downtown.

Kokomo Kids Play

Puzzles and Coloring at McCool’s Flooring
333 S. 00 East West, Kokomo, IN 46901 | (765)453-3039
https://mccoolsflooring.com/

It can be difficult for kids to get excited about shopping for household essentials like flooring or carpet. During a recent visit to McCool’s Flooring to browse their carpet selection, I noticed a small but thoughtful play area near the consultation table. Equipped with two chairs, puzzles, and coloring books, the space provides a welcome distraction for children during what can feel like an endless shopping trip. As a parent, I truly appreciate when businesses create family-friendly spaces like this. It allows customers to shop longer and with less stress, making the experience more enjoyable for everyone.

Kokomo Kids Learn

Youth Workshops at the Columbian Park Zoo
1915 Scott St., Lafayette, IN 47904 | (765) 807-1540
http://www.columbianparkzoo.org/

Add the Columbian Park Zoo in Lafayette to your spring or summer bucket list. While the zoo doesn’t open until mid-spring, the education department offers school, youth, and family programs throughout the year. Youth programs provide opportunities for participants to learn about wildlife up close through hands-on activities, games, crafts, and age-appropriate STEM lessons. Registration is now open online for Critter Classes for ages 5-7 and Wildlife Workshops for ages 8-11. These programs take place on select Saturday mornings and make for a fun family day trip. During the season, admission to the zoo is free for children 2 and under and $3 for visitors ages 3 and older. The zoo offers a small-community presentation of the big world of wildlife and provides an engaging educational experience for all. Plan your spring visit and learn more by visiting the Columbian Park Zoo website.
