Kokomo Post Kids Eat, Play, Learn: Dec. 7
Hey Kokomo! It’s that time of the week again. Our staff with kids are happy to share a few of the places their kids like to eat, play, and learn in and around Howard County. Check out this week’s picks for yourself!
Kokomo Kids Eat
Peppermint Stick Soft Serve at Cone Palace
55 W. 300 South, Kokomo, IN 46902
(765) 453-4470
We splurged and got ice cream as a family this past week, because who doesn’t want ice cream when it's freezing outside? It was perfect timing because Cone Palace just announced their new seasonal soft serve peppermint stick was available. We all got cones and my boys were so excited to eat pink ice cream! This flavor is always so perfect, not too sweet and not too minty, to quote Goldilocks it was “just right.” We will definitely be back for some of the other seasonal treats before winter is over. Check the Cone Palace Facebook page for more details on specialty items and soft serve flavors.
Kokomo Kids Play
Ride on Sandy (the Horse/Reindeer) at Meijer
2301 E. Markland Ave., Kokomo, IN 46901
(765) 454-7800
We frequently visit Sandy at Meijer during our shopping visits, but we found her all dressed up for the holidays last week. Sandy looks more like a certain reindeer with antlers and a big red nose this month… she even has stockings on! Sandy has been a tradition since the origins of the Meijer stores and rides have ever only cost one cent. It’s funny knowing that I rode on Sandy a few times when I was young and she’s still here making kids happy today. Giddy up, kids!

Donating Unused Items
Many families, including ours, use this time before Christmas to declutter and donate items that they may no longer need. This can easily be something we include our children in especially knowing that unused toys and gently worn clothes would be appreciated by many families in need during this time of year. Take the time to discuss with your family why it's a good idea to eliminate things that go unused in your home. There may be some sad feelings, but hopefully you’ll find gratitude in the process for the things you’ve been given and shared with your family in the past year. Here’s a list of local places where you can make a beneficial donation of items here in our community:
