Taking your Fur-baby to the Dog Park

We’re assuming your dog is as eager to get out of the house as you are. Did you know there are four dog parks in Kokomo?! Grab a leash and head to one of these dog parks listed below! Your furry friend will thank you!

-Downtown Dog Park: Located at 321 S. Main St., this dog park was specifically designed for downtown dog owners. Located by many amazing trails and businesses, this location has it all!

-Bon Air Dog Park: Located at 2500 N. Purdum St., this is Kokomo’s newest dog park! Once an under-utilized horseshoe court, this smaller dog park is perfect for a pup who prefers to play alone.

-Mehlig Dog Park: Located next to Carter West Apartments at 1701 W. Carter St., Mehlig is my personal favorite. This is the city's oldest and first official dog park. This large park offers a lot of room for running and playing. There’s also a separate fenced area for smaller and more timid dogs.

-Mohr Dog Park: After the success of Mehlig Dog Park, Mohr Dog Park was constructed at 2302 Saratoga Ave. This park offers equipment for dog play, and a covered picnic area and benches for owners!

Enjoying Downtown Kokomo

Downtown Kokomo in the spring hits differently. Sidewalks and alleys are filled with people, friends and family are eating outside at Three Amigos and Oscar’s Pizza, the Sun King patio is filled with dogs, and life is good. Next time you’re downtown, we encourage you to check out the new businesses that have popped up downtown over the winter! You won’t be disappointed.
