Fall break is quickly approaching - are you ready? If you’re staying close to home and need ideas to help entertain the kids, we have you covered!

Local Events:

Fall Straw Maze Fun

Check out the Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom for a free kid-friendly fall straw maze at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library in Russiaville!

When: Anytime from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 (Even if the library is closed)
Where: KHCPL-Russiville 315 Mesa Dr., Russiaville

Inside Outside Camping: Blanket Fort Fun!

Children ages 5 to 8 are invited to spend some time “camping” at the library! Enjoy camp songs, stories, s’mores, and a craft! (Girl Scouts can even earn a patch!)

When: 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13

Casper and The Addams Family

Experience a spooky night at the 13-24 Drive-In movie theatre in Wabash. For just $15 a carload, you can enjoy two back-to-back movies!

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14

Doud’s Cider Weekend

Spend a day at the orchard with the fam! Taste fresh pressed apple cider, pick out the perfect pumpkin, and enjoy live music and horse-drawn wagon rides from 1 to 5 p.m.

When: 11 am to 6 p.m. Oct. 15 and Oct. 16

Painting Pumpkins with the Kokomo Parks Department

Get creative at Kirkendall Nature Center with pumpkin painting! Pumpkins are available while supplies last - or you can bring your own!

Reading with Pet Partners - Paws to Read

Kids of all ages can practice reading to trained therapy animals!

Princess & Superhero Day

Head to Kendall Family Farm Adventures for a meet and greet with two princesses and a superhero! Admission to the farm is required, but there aren’t any additional charges for the event! You and your family can experience a 5-acre corn maze, live animals, hayrides, and so much more.

When: Noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15

Craft with Me! Fall Leaves and Pumpkins, Please

Children ages 6 to 11 years old can make autumn crafts.

Fall Break Fun: Dance Fiesta

All ages are welcome for a dance fiesta! Dress up and join the library to dance to Salsa, Flamenco, Samba, and more.

Drums Alive! Family Beats

Use drumsticks and an exercise ball for a fun and interactive class for everyone! Call any library location to register beforehand.

Fall Break Fun: Big Outdoor Games

The bigger the games, the more fun! Enjoy some family time together for giant Jenga, and dominos, and even build your own creation with the Imagination Playground!

Fall Break Fun: Pumpkin Painting

Time to get messy! Kids up to age 11 will be able to decorate a free pumpkin with paint!

Wrangler & Friends Fall Break Camp

Ages 4 to 11 can spend all day or a half day with Wrangler & Friends on the farm! Children will learn about animal education, homesteading, exploring nature, and even ride horses. Click here to reserve your spot!
