23rd Annual Chocolate Celebration Promises Sweet Surprises and Community Spirit
One of Kokomo’s most anticipated community events returns this Friday as Samaritan Caregivers hosts its 23rd annual Chocolate Celebration.

Indiana University Kokomo’s Student Activities and Events Center welcomed alumni back to campus for the annual IU Kokomo volleyball alumni game.
Among those returning were Alexa Roberts, IU Kokomo’s assistant athletic director for operations, and Sarah Morin, assistant volleyball coach. Head coach Heather Hayes added a unique twist to the competition, blending alumni and current players to form two teams, creatively named IUK and Cougars.
The result was a fun and competitive afternoon of volleyball. The Cougars swept all three sets, winning 25-17, 26-24 and 25-20.

Eastern High School took care of business at home, shutting out Taylor 10-0 in the opening round of the Howard County Baseball Invitational! Senior pitcher Collin Otto was lights out, throwing a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts over five innings.
The Comets capitalized on early errors and sealed the win with a five-run fifth to invoke the mercy rule. They’re back in action Saturday morning against Rossville!
