Get ready, Kokomo—summer is about to hit all the right notes. The Kokomo Summer Concert Series officially kicks off on Saturday, June 7, and has announced an opening night of high-energy performances featuring The Blooze Brothers and honky-tonk favorite Tyler Lance Walker Gill.
Hailing from Chicago, The Blooze Brothers are more than just a tribute act—they’re an 11-piece, high-powered show band bringing an electrifying mix of swing, Motown, soul, R&B, and classic rock to the stage. With over 30 years of experience wowing audiences, they’ve played everything from a presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. to Soldier Field’s NHL Winter Classic in front of 70,000 fans. Organizers say you can expect a night packed with great music, signature dance moves, and the kind of high-energy antics that made the original Blues Brothers legendary.
“I have always wanted to see a Blues Brothers tribute act in the city where the movie actually started. The Blooze Brothers is a full production, 11 piece band, with all the fun and great music from the movie,” said Kyle Gibson, concert organizer and owner of The Coterie.
Opening the night is Tyler Lance Walker Gill, whose honky-tonk style blends classic country influences with sharp storytelling and humor. His songs capture the essence of small-town life, working-class struggles, and the highs and lows of a rowdy night out—all with a modern twist that keeps the crowd on their feet.
The music starts at 6 p.m. at the Kokomo Performing Arts Pavilion in Foster Park, 721 E. Superior St. Limited bleacher seating is available, but for the best experience, grab your lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for an unforgettable evening under the stars.
Presented by the City of Kokomo, the Kokomo Summer Concert Series is all about bringing top-tier national and regional acts to the community free of charge—alongside local food vendors and community activities that make every night a summer celebration.
“My goal is to introduce Kokomo to fresh new sounds while celebrating the artists and styles they already love,” Gibson said. “I hope this year we can welcome a slew of first-time visitors to our vibrant downtown and make the locals proud of the city they call home.”
Already announced for the series is the End of Summer Banger on Saturday, Sept. 27, featuring Everclear, Local H, and Sponge.
