Yolonda’s Place Brings Soul Food to Kokomo

Yolonda’s Place is bringing soul to Markland. The newest restaurant on the Kokomo culinary scene, Yolonda’s Place, is offering something new to Kokomo: jerk and soul food. Owner Osiris Arrington says he opened the soul food restaurant to honor his late mother, Yolonda, who is pictured on the restaurant’s signage and marketing. Arrington said Yolonda’s Place will offer a rotating menu of soul food, jerk tacos, frozen lemonades, lemon pepper wings in a variety of flavors and weekly specials.

Arrington said the normal hours of operation at Yolonda’s Place will be:

11 a.m.-1 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday

11 a.m.-2:30 a.m. Friday-Saturday

11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday

He said the menu will change during the hours 7 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Yolonda’s Place is located at 1195 E. Markland Ave., Kokomo.
