What Drew Orders - Oscars Pizza

Welcome to my What Drew Orders series here on The Kokomo Post. This is a blog series I wanted to start to show off a lot of great local restaurants in Kokomo and specifically what I like to order at those restaurants.
I was a weird 10-year-old, who, for some reason, was attracted to this sitcom about middle-aged people in Boston who called a bar their home. If you know what show I’m talking about: “Cheers.”
If you have watched that show, you know everyone yelled “NORM!” when the character Norm Peterson walked into the bar. What happened after that greeting was what I really found fascinating. Norm walked to his chair – yes, it was his and belonged to no other patrion, and was greeted with a beer without even ordering it. They just knew. As that weird 10-year-old watched that happen every single episode, I wanted that to happen to me. I wanted to be “Normed” at a restaurant.
And now, as a 33-year-old man, I have.
Oscar’s Pizza has become one of our family’s go-to pizza shops in Kokomo due to its delicious New York-style pizza, and proximity to our home/office. It’s a small, quirky shop with playfully rude employees that provides a vibe you can’t find anywhere else in Kokomo, in my opinion. Some could call it the pizza shop version of that “Cheers” bar I watched as a child. The “some” I’m referring to is me. Oscar’s is my Cheers.
I’m a big fan of a good, hearty salad for lunch. Oscar’s has a solid choice of salads on its menu, but none of them filled me up in the way I need for lunch. So, I created my own. A salad that quickly was named “The Drew.” Here is how you order it.
Order the garden salad with the following adjustments:
Half arugula
ADD Bell Peppers
ADD Banana Peppers
ADD Jalapeno Peppers
ADD Olives
ADD Cucumbers
ADD Chicken (it’s so good)
ADD Pepperoni (when in Rome AKA a pizza shop)
Ranch (Oscar’s ranch is the best salad ranch in Kokomo)
