It’s easy to say that Kokomo is so boring when you don’t know what’s going on in town. Even our kids love telling us how dull life can get when your days all look the same. We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer. Here’s something you can do with your kids every day this week! Take a look and tell them we sent you!


  • Monday, Oct. 14, 2024

    • Monday Fun Day at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Russiaville Branch

      Recommended for children ages 2-5

      Start your week off at the library with Monday Fun Day where children can develop literacy, social, and creative skills through storytime and more. Each session features engaging picture books, interactive reading, songs, and movement activities. Children will participate in crafts and hands-on activities that build kindergarten readiness while encouraging creativity. Parents and guardians are encouraged to join in, fostering a love for learning and creating meaningful memories. Social interaction with peers also helps children build important social skills.     • Fall Party at the Very Early Childhood Education Center

      Recommended for children ages 0-5  for kindergarten readiness

      The Very Early Childhood Education Center, the ultimate play space for preschoolers, offers open play hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week. With each visit, children receive a free book and age-appropriate learning activity. Today from 10 a.m. to noon, there will be a fall party with crafts, bounce houses, door prizes, and more! This free, public resource center provides many opportunities for play and learning. The play space includes toys, structures that inspire imaginative play, and hands-on learning activities that encourage building and engineering.     • Kids in the Kitchen: Food Art at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Main Branch

      Recommended for kids ages 3-11

      Playing with your food isn’t a bad thing when every child can be an artist in the kitchen with food art. This library program is a full serving of fun. Kids and caregivers can make simple art from some of their favorite foods. Join the KHCPL Main staff for the program in Meeting Rooms A and B in the basement.     • Visit the Kirkendall Interpretive Nature Center at Jackson Morrow Park

      Fun for the whole family

      The Kirkendall Nature Center is currently operating on its winter schedule with open hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The nature center is home to many Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department (KPRD) programs and activities, including creature features throughout the year. If you’ve never visited, it’s a great place to learn more about local wildlife species, plants, and insects. In addition to preserved and live animals, the nature center has games, books, and other hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.

    • Carver Community Center and Bridges Outreach “To the 10th Power”

      For youth ages 12-17

      For just $5, local youth can join this exciting Friday night event. Participants can explore the Carver Center and take part in basketball, dodgeball, and Nerf wars throughout the evening. To participate in Nerf war activities, you must bring your own Nerf gun and ammo (no jelly blasters allowed). There is something for everyone, with karaoke, painting, and many other activity stations available. Free popcorn and water will be provided for participants.       The ultimate place for a kid to be a kid is still right here in Kokomo! Chuck E. Cheese is celebrating Halloween all month long with the Halloween Boo-Tacular. Kids in costumes receive free e-tickets, plus enjoy spooky treats, DJ Munch’s Haunted House Party every night, and more! Visit the Kokomo location on the Chuck E. Cheese website for special coupons to save on food and gameplay.
