One of the many DINO-vember events happening at the KHCPL this month, Dino Camp begins with storytime of an engaging picture book. Then participants can take part in multiple hands-on activities meant to engage their little one’s senses and help develop motor skills. Fun for the Whole FamilyThe Kirkendall Nature Center is currently operating on its winter schedule with open hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-5 p.m. during the week. The nature center is home to many Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department (KPRD) activities including Creature Features throughout the summer months. If you’ve never visited the nature center, it is a great place to learn more about local wildlife species, plants, and insects. In addition to the preserved and live animals, the nature center has games, books, and other hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Fun for All AgesShare the nostalgia of playing at the arcade with your family this week. Scanlines Arcade is located inside City of Firsts Adventure Park and is open from 3- 10 p.m. on Wednesdays for a ton of fun. On Wednesdays, pinball games are set to 50 cents per game! They have many pinball games, but also some classic and new arcade games made to test your skills. Be sure to check their Facebook page for any last-minute updates or announcements.

Kindermusik is offered at varying times and at multiple of our KHCPL locations. Turkey Handprint Workshop with Clay at Fired Arts Studio | 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

This workshop is one of many special activities they host at the studio. You can create a special gift or keepsake of your child’s handprint or footprint with the help of the studio staff. Tickets are required to participate in the Turkey Handprint workshop, but they are available to purchase on the Fired Arts Studio Website for $25.

Attend the We Care Tree Auction at the Markland Mall | 5 p.m.
1114 2. 17th St. Kokomo, IN 46902 | (765) 454-6940Whether you attend to bid or just to watch, the We Care Trim-A-Tree Festival is a true celebration of giving during the holiday season. You can go and view the trees and wreaths at the Markland Mall up until they are sold on Sunday. You can also drop coins in the buckets to vote for your favorite tree or wreath display. 100 percent of all funds raised with We Care are disbursed to selected local organizations that provide assistance to the disadvantaged and less fortunate as well as the mentally and physically challenged within our community.
