Did you know that your “play pass” or fee to play at Sweet Peas allows you to play all day? You can stop by to play in the morning, go home, eat lunch, take a nap, and come back for more. On weekdays, you can be an early bird (arrive between 8-9 a.m.) and get your playpasses for half price!

Fun for the whole family
The Kirkendall Nature Center is currently operating on their winter schedule with open hours on Tuesdays and Thursday from 2-5 p.m. during the week. The nature center is home to many Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department (KPRD) activities including creature features throughout the summer months. If you’ve never visited the nature center, it is a great place to learn more about local wildlife species, plants and insects. In addition to the preserved and live animals, the nature center has games, books, and other hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving!
This holiday brings a diverse slate of traditions and opportunities for people to take part in. I know one of our favorite things to do on Thanksgiving morning is watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and run a 5K race with our family. Some may be working in the kitchen all day or even volunteering and serving others. We hope you have the chance to celebrate with loved ones and be filled with gratitude and appreciation this week.Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade airs on WTHR 13.1 on NBC at 8:30 a.m.

As the temperatures drop and fall turns to winter we can get excited to practice some of our favorite holiday traditions like going Ice Skating. Now in its 6th year, the Frozen Sandlot is made possible by the partnership between Bridges Outreach and the City of Kokomo. Thanks to the City of Kokomo, all of the proceeds will benefit Bridges Outreach and youth in our community. The colors and beauty of Fall are very visible in our community. The Children’s Department staff at KHCPL Main want you to join them in making some autumn creations with your friends and family. The theme is fall leaves and pumpkins please and all are welcome. If you don’t already have a library card, you can sign up for one before or after the event just with proof of address.
